President of Egypt H E Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani held an official session at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday where they discussed relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields, especially in the field of investment, transport and social affairs, in addition to discussing several current regional and international issues of common concern.
They witnessed the signing of an MoU between Qatar Investment Authority (QIA) and the Sovereign Fund of Egypt for investment and development (TSFE); an MoU on the cooperation in the field of ports; and an MoU on cooperation in the field of social affairs.
At the outset of the session, the Amir welcomed the Egyptian President and the accompanying delegation, wishing the fraternal relations between the two countries further development and growth, and hoping that this visit would contribute to the consolidation of cooperation and relations between the two countries to achieve the aspirations and interests of the two brotherly peoples.
The Egyptian President expressed his thanks and appreciation to H H the Amir for the warm reception and hospitality, hoping to strengthen relations between the two fraternal countries and push them to broader horizons at all levels.
The session was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; Chief of Amiri Diwan H E Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani; Minister of State for Energy Affairs H E Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi; and Minister of Commerce and Industry H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani.
On the Egyptian side, Minister of Foreign Affairs H E Sameh Shoukry; Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources H E Eng. Tarek El Molla; Minister of Planning and Economic Development H E Dr. Hala El Said; Chief of the President’s Office H E Major General Ahmed Mohammed Ali; and a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation attended the session.
