Egypt’s Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Al-Sayyed Al Qusseir says his ministry has released 145,00 tons of soybeans and corn required for poultry fodder.
Al Qusseir, on Sunday in a statement said the release of soybeans and corn was in collaboration with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).
Since October, the country has suffered a shortage of feed nationwide, which led some of the workers on farms to kill chicks.
Footage showing the execution of chicks circulated on social media has angered many citizens.
To that end, Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said that there will cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) to speed up the release of the largest possible amount of feed to support the poultry industry.
