Egypt Seizes EGP 11Million Worth Drug Shipments in South Sinai (News Central TV)

A joint operation by Egypt’s Public Security Sector, the General Department for Drug Control, along with the unlicensed Weapons and Ammunition, Department have impounded EGP 11Million worth drug from several drug dealers.

The Interior Ministry said the forces made several pre-emptive strikes near Sharm El Sheikh,  Ras Sidr, Dahab, El-Tur, Abu Ordis, Nuweiba in south Sinai.

The seized narcotic substances is estimated at about EGP 11,260,000 million. The General Administration for Drug Control and the General Administration for Unlicensed Weapons and Ammunition said on Thursday that they have monitored the activity of “several criminal elements” who are traffickers of narcotics in large quantities and selling it using their places of residence.

The accused have been apprehended at their residences and in possession of huge amounts of cannabis, hydro drug, Captagon narcotic tablets along with unlicensed guns and weapons.

The total amount of narcotics seized was (a quantity of cannabis that weighed 87 kilograms – a quantity of hydroxy drug that weighed 10 kilograms – a quantity of heroin that weighed 4 kilograms – 9000 tablets of Captagon drug – a quantity of banjo that weighed 25 kilograms).

The seized narcotic drugs is valued at approximately EGP 7,015,000.
