Egypt Sends Second Shipment of Humanitarian Aid to Sudan

Egypt sent a second shipment of humanitarian aid to Sudan, as part of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s directive to provide support to Sudan in confronting its ongoing internal issues.

Two Egyptian planes carrying shelter materials, medicines and medical devices arrived at Khartoum International Airport as part of an air bridge that consists of nine planes and will continue until next Thursday.

The aid included large quantities of food and blankets provided by the Defense Ministry and the Egyptian Red Crescent in response to torrential rains and floods in Sudan.

Sudanese officials stressed their appreciation for Egypt’s efforts to help the Sudanese people, a move that strengthens the ties between the two countries.

Sudan’s Minister of Social Development Ahmed Adam Bakhit said his country had previously received Egyptian humanitarian aid during its struggle with COVID-19 and flooding last year.
