Egypt to Chair Ministerial Arab Council for Tourism (News Central TV)

Egypt has been appointed to chair the executive board of the Ministerial Arab Council for Tourism on Wednesday. Egypt will chair the board from 2021-2023. Tunisia was elected deputy chair, while Algeria, Morocco, Iraq, and Palestine became board members.

At the council’s 24th meeting which took place at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, ministers also selected Jordan’s Madaba city as capital of Arab tourism for the year 2022.  

Also, the ministers recommended technical assistance to Palestine in order to boost its tourism industry. They equally urged tourism officials in Arab countries to offer humanitarian aid and developmental projects to the fellow Arab state alleviating the impact of Israeli violations, and COVID-19 pandemic.

Attendees made a similar call for the support of Libya’s implementation of the National Human Patrimony House.

The council underscored the importance of boosting intra-Arab tourism, and setting a timeline for training courses and programs offered to Arab employees in the sector as well as devising a unified system for vaccine accreditation. That is in addition to making solid steps toward
