Officials in Egypt’s Port Said Governorate told newsmen that the world’s largest floating bookfair, Logos Hope, will reach the Mediterranean city Port Said in early January.
The vessel goes on several voyages around the globe and remains in each port for two weeks to host thousands of readers onboard.
The floating book fair offers over 5,000 titles and on average, it welcomes one million visitors every year.
It is currently is in Limassol, Cyprus, where it anchored on November 26. It will remain there until December 31, according the official website of the ship.
The last time it arrived Port Said on November 24, 2010 and departed on December 7, 2010. It also navigated through the Suez Canal on December 28 and 29, 2010.
With about 60 different nationalities represented on board, the Logos Hope community is regarded as a genuine expression of international goodwill and understanding.
Its crew of over 350 are all non-salaried volunteers, including many serving in their professional capacities, such as authors, journalists, sailors, technicians, electricians, doctors, teachers and chefs.
