Egypt to Strengthen Tourism Partnership with Türkiye

Egypt Aims to Strengthen Tourism Partnership with Turkiye

Egypt is shifting toward partnership over competition with Turkiye in tourism, with plans to leverage the appeal of both destinations, according to Mohamed Atta Elsherbeiny, head of international tourism at the Egyptian Tourism Authority.

Speaking at a tourism fair in Antalya, Elsherbeiny noted that while Turkiye and Egypt once competed, they now benefit from collaboration, supported by 100 weekly flights between the two countries.

With Egypt’s winter appeal and Turkiye’s summer draw, the destinations avoid seasonal overlap, offering mutual opportunities for tourism growth.

Egypt hosted 180,000 Turkish visitors last year, a number both countries aim to increase.
