A wave of despair hit Egyptians following the death of two warrior women, Egyptian TV Presenter Asmaa Mostafa and Salma el-Zarqa, died Monday after a long battle with Cancer.
Asmaa Mostafa’s was announced dead Monday after a protracted struggle with tumour, which she was diagnosed with a while ago. Her workmates, family and friends mourned her on social media, saying she resisted vigorously and was filled with hope, but her health condition deteriorated significantly during the past days.
She was moved to the hospital in attempt to control her situation, her husband later announced her death.
Mostafa was a TV presenter to a number of morning shows, like: Sabah el-Ward and Sabah el-Tahrir.
She started working at Nahar TV Channel, and then joined Extra News in 2017. She presented a daily radio program on Nagham FM last year, and announced in April her diagnose with Cancer.
Salma el-Zarqa was diagnosed with cancer six years ago, where it started in her bones, and she had her left arm amputated. Her health condition was stable for a while, but the malicious disease attacked her fiercely again a few months ago.
El-Zarqa was famous for being one of the cancer fighters. She was settled inside a hospital. On November 11, she wrote her last post on Instagram, where she said that she “literally lost all her muscles and did not eat for the past 44 days.”
She also said that she moves using wheelchair, and that she is fed by medical solutions, chemotherapy and antibiotics. She called on her followers to pray for her.
