Egypt,Nigeria to Sign MoU on Arts and Craft Development

Nigeria and Egypt are making plans to sign a memorandum of understanding to help in the sustainable development of their respective Arts and Craft.

This was revealed during the visit of the Ambassador of Egypt to Nigeria, Mr. Ihab Ahmed, to the Director General of the Nigerian Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), Otunba Segun Runsewe.

Ambassador Ahmed noted that Nigeria and Egypt share arts and craft with striking similarities, and thus, the need to initiate to collaborate in order to showcase to the world, their rich cultural heritage; diverse, yet similar.

He further said an action plan is in the pipeline to have the Director General and the entire team visit Egypt, adding that the trip will “provide the cultural agency to the enormous opportunities of cultural exchange and collaboration between Egypt and Nigeria.”

There were discussions bordering on creation of the Nigeria-Egypt friendship club, as well as Egypt’s intention to fully participate in the International Arts and Craft (INAC) Expo coming up within the year.

Meanwhile, the Director General of National Council for Arts and Culture, Segun Runsewe revealed few weeks ago, that plans are in top gear to make this year’s International Arts and Crafts (INAC) Expo bigger and more culture friendly.
