On October 1, the activities of the first ALDAU International Art Festival were inaugurated by Egypt‘s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Ahmed Issa, and Red Sea Governor, Amr Hanafi.
The Red Sea Governorate and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities both sponsor the festival. As part of the commemoration of World Tourism Day, it is organised by ALDAU Development Company and takes place at ALDAU Art Promenade in Hurghada from October 1–7.
The art exhibition, which features the works of the festival’s participating artists, was inspected by the minister of tourism and antiquities and the governor of the Red Sea. The festival has more than 40 performers from various nations, including several Egyptian artists as well as artists from the United States of America, Jordan, Tunisia, Uzbekistan, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The participating artists arrived in Hurghada before to the festival’s start, and there they participated in a series of workshops from September 22 to September 29.
The Red Sea’s historical significance in world trade as well as the Dau, an Arab sailing ship that participated in both commercial and cultural exchange, provided as inspiration for this festival’s concept. This aligns with the festival’s objectives and goals, transforming Hurghada into a crossroads of cultures.
This festival is anticipated to be the largest international art exhibition in Hurghada, boosting travel and highlighting the tourist destinations in Egypt.
