President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi of Egypt has reappointed Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly to form a new government.
El-Sissi won 89.6% of the vote in the December election.
Madbouly resigned from his role as Prime Minister two months after el-Sissi was sworn in for a third, six-year term.
It is reportedly customary for the government to resign at the beginning of a fresh presidential mandate.
58-year-old Madbouly had his first appointment as prime minister in June 2018 when he replaced Sherif Ismail.
Mustafa Madbouly served as housing minister in March 2024 and led the United Nations HABITAT Regional Office for Arabs.
