The Katsina State Government has approved Friday, April 12, 2024 as additional holiday to mark the Eid-el-Fitr festival which brings Ramadan fasting to an end.
This comes after the Federal Government extended the Eid-el-Fitr public holidays to Thursday, April 11, following the initial declaration of Tuesday, April 9, and Wednesday, April 10, for the festivities.
Governor Dikko Umar Radda, through the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Bala Zango, stated that extending the holiday would allow workers in the state to fully participate in the celebrations with their families.
Governor Radda also emphasised the importance of security awareness and prayers during the festive period.
The statement, titled “Eid-Fitr: Gov Dikko Radda Declares Friday, 12th April, 2024, Work-Free Day,” was released to the press on Tuesday.
It reads:
“His Excellency the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda, has declared Friday, April 12, 2024, a work-free day.
