Electricity customers in Nigeria hit 13.2m as unmetered gap increases

According to reports, Nigeria’s electricity customers hit 13,168,677 million in May 2024 and estimated billing customers still surpass metered customers.
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission(NERC) shared the data from the factsheet on Monday through its official X handle.
The figure represents a significant jump from 12.33 million recorded in the first Quarter of 2024.

Data from the NERC showed that metered customers stood at 5,977,203 million in May compared to 7,191,474 million estimated billing customers in the same month.
