Elon Musk has announced that his artificial intelligence startup, xAI, will unveil its latest chatbot, Grok 3, on Monday, touting it as the “smartest AI on Earth.”
The highly anticipated release will include a live demonstration at 8:00 pm Pacific time (4:00 am GMT), according to a post by Musk on his social media platform, X, on Saturday.
Grok 3, described as a cutting-edge AI model, has been trained using synthetic data and is designed to identify and reflect on its mistakes by re-examining information to achieve logical accuracy.
Musk, who is both the world’s richest person and an adviser to US President Donald Trump on reducing government spending, said he would be working closely with the xAI team over the weekend to fine-tune the product ahead of its launch.
The chatbot’s release comes as xAI races to carve out its place in the fiercely competitive AI landscape, dominated by products like OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
The market has grown even more intense following the surprise emergence of Chinese startup DeepSeek, whose low-cost, high-performance chatbot recently surpassed ChatGPT in downloads on Apple’s app store.

Despite his frequent warnings about AI posing a threat to humanity, Musk has been aggressively pursuing a larger stake in the AI sector.
xAI announced in December that it had secured $6 billion in its latest funding round, attracting major backers such as US venture capitalists, chipmakers Nvidia and AMD, and investment funds from Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
This followed an earlier $6 billion fundraising effort in May, propelling xAI into the ranks of the world’s most valuable startups—though it remains significantly smaller than OpenAI.
Musk founded xAI in July 2023, shortly after signing an open letter calling for a pause in the development of advanced AI models due to concerns about their potential risks. His rivalry with OpenAI, however, has intensified, with the company’s board recently rejecting a $97.4 billion buyout offer led by Musk.
As the AI arms race heats up, all eyes are now on Monday’s Grok 3 launch—a bold move by xAI as it seeks to challenge its powerful competitors and reshape the future of artificial intelligence.
