#EndBadGovernance Protest: Curfew Lifted in Katsina

The curfew imposed on Katsina State by the government in response to the #EndBadGovernance protest, which was disrupted by criminals leading to the destruction of public property, has been lifted.

Mr. Abdullahi Aliyu-Yar’adua, the Director of Press at the Office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), announced this in a statement issued in Katsina on Tuesday.

He said, “Following reports on prevailing peace and harmony in all parts of the state, the acting governor, Malam Faruk Lawal-Jobe, has lifted the curfew imposed on the state with immediate effect.”

The acting governor stated that the curfew was lifted to allow residents to conduct their normal activities without any obstacles.
The state government encouraged residents to report suspicious individuals to the relevant authorities.

Additionally, he restated the government’s dedication to addressing the security issues in the state.
The acting governor expressed gratitude to the security forces and the people of the state for their support and understanding.
He then requested more support, cooperation, and prayers to achieve peace in the state.

He said:” no meaningful development can be achieved in an atmosphere of insecurity.”
