#EndBadGovernance Protest: Osun, Edo and Jos Residents Shun President’s Appeal

#EndBadGovernance Protest: Osun, Edo and Jos Residents Shun President's Appeal

President Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerian youths to halt the ongoing nationwide protests against the high cost of living. Still, #EndBadGovernance protesters in Osun, Edo and Jos states took to the streets on Sunday morning.

#EndBadGovernance protest organisers in Osun state said they will decide on the next steps after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu speaks to the nation.

Ajala Adetunji, the Osun Coordinator of the Coalition of Concerned Nigeria Citizens leading the protest, mentioned that all involved will review the presidential appeal.

“The protest is not a one-man show, especially concerning Osun’s case,” Adetunji said.
“As far as the presidential address this morning is concerned, Mr President did not address any of our concerns. The president was not specific about what the government will do to address the demands of the youth,” he added.
“However, we will still meet to deliberate. As it stands, the protest continues in Osun,” he said.

The demonstrators assembled at Freedom Park in Osogbo and marched through the streets as part of a nationwide protest.

Meanwhile, in Edo State, the protesters congregated at the Agho junction on Ekenhuan road in Benin City, offering prayers to God for intervention in the numerous crises affecting the nation.

On day four of the #EndBadGovernance protest in Jos, Plateau State, demonstrators decided to hold a joint service at the protest grounds.
