English footballer and Manchester City’s defensive midfielder, Kalvin Philips continues to draw interest from Premier League clubs.
Philips who signed with the treble winners, City, on a six-year contract on July 4, 2022, has played a total of 10 games, with a goal.
Following a move from Leeds United, Philips is yet to integrate himself into Pep Guardiola’s style of play. Additionally, there have been speculations on his ability to fill in for Guardiola’s asset and Spanish midfielder Rodri. This has made his playing time even more limited at City.
According to Sky Sports News, Premier League teams Crystal Palace, Everton, Newcastle, West Ham, and Italian side, Juventus are interested in Philips.
Seeing as a move away from the Etihad may be his best option, Philips has stated his interest in joining another club to get more playing time.
Although nothing formal has been submitted to the reigning Premier League champions, the above-mentioned clubs have registered their interest in Phillips. One of which is Roy Hodson who clearly stated his interest in a recent interview.
City have also told Phillips he can leave but are looking for a sizeable loan fee. Sky Sports reports that Manchester City would request around £5 million for a temporary agreement for Phillips, as well as most, if not all, of the Englishman’s £135,000-per-week wages.
