Eno Barony Declared Best Female Rapper in Africa

Female Ghanaian rapper Eno Barony has been awarded as the Best Female Rap Act in Africa at the just concluded African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA).
She was declared the winner in this very competitive and tight category. Rapper in this category includes, Nakai from South Africa, Moonya from Senegal, Rosa Ree from Tanzania, Bombshell Grenade from Zambia, Muthoni Drummer Queen from Kenya, Askia from Cameroon, Candy Bleakz from Nigeria, Keko from Uganda and Rouge from South Africa.
The 29 year old rapper took to her official Twitter page to express gratitude and dedicating her win to Ghana.
“The Best Female Rap Act in Africa @afrimma wow dreams come through. Thank u all for believing in me this is for Ghana”

Indeed the win was for Ghana, as Eno was the only Ghanaian act to win an award on the night, although twenty-five other entertainers were nominated.


Ghanaians celebrities who were nominated includes, Adina, Stonebwoy, Joe Mettle, Diana Hamilton, Kofi Mole, J Derobie, Efya, Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Manifest, Sarkodie, Medikal, Directors David Duncan and Gyo Gyimah, TV personality Jessica Opare Saforo, Andy Dostyand DJ Aku

This award obviously would mean a lot to Eno Barony, the VGMA 2020 awards for the rapper of the year, did not go to Eno, but seeing that this is an all over Africa award, and not just Ghana, means that Eno Barony is really good at what she does.
The VGMA award was a tough one for Eno, as that award birthed her song, Enough is Enough”. And even validation from people like, Veteran musician Rex Omar. Who said; “Eno to me right now she is on top of her game when it comes to rap…. Let this urge you on because one award will not determine you, keep on doing you and I think that you have it,”.


After that awards, Eno Barony released a song called “Game of thrones”. The song is performed over the intro of HBO’s Game of Thrones series and was released on the 31st of August, Eno Barony shaded the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards; Charter house in that song, that she might not have been given the proper accolades and might not have been acknowledged at that event, but she still remains the best rapper in the game.

“We are fighting for the throne but you already know who the king is…No disrespect to any rapper but the king of rap in Ghana now is female, this what we call a bitter truth,” she added

It was just a process of time, now we can see that the king of rap, not only in Ghana, but in Africa is female, and she is Eno Barony.
