EPL Returns: African Players Set for Season of Two Halves

Football resumes across major leagues in Europe this weekend and fans are
excited about a number of African players who will be on parade for their
clubs. The Premier League takes the centre stage with exciting fixtures on match day one.

Newly promoted Bournemouth, Fulham, and Nottingham Forest will try to avoid
an immediate return to the Championship, while defending champions,Manchester City will attempt to make it three league victories for the first time ever in their history.

As the new season commences, a number of African players will be looking to
make their mark and debut. Senegal’s Kalidou Koulibaly will be making his debut
this weekend for Chelsea in an away clash against Everton.

The likes of Mohamed Salah of Egypt, Riyad Mahrez of Algeria, Wilfried Ndidi
of Nigeria, and a host of other African stars will be looking to kick off the season
in style.

For the first time ever, the Premier League will stop in the middle of the
season to make room for a winter World Cup.

As a result, match-round 16 will be the final one played, over the weekend of
November 12 to 13, before players are called up by their countries for the
tournament travel to Qatar.

Arsenal began their 2022/2023 season with an opening day victory
against Crystal Palace. Thomas Partey played the entire duration of the match as Arsenal went home with all points available for the night.
