Manchester City striker, Erling Haaland feels Senegal will be the strongest of the five African sides competing in the World Cup.

Haaland, who will not be attending the World Cup due to Norway’s failure to qualify, has endorsed Senegal to advance further than any other African nation in the global competition.

“I think Senegal will do really well,” Haaland told SuperSport TV.

“They are a strong team and they have so many strong players. So I think Senegal will do the best out of [the African teams].”

The remaining four continental representatives are Cameroon, Ghana, Tunisia, and Morocco. Senegal has qualified for the World Cup for the third time. Their first appearance was in 2002, when they advanced to the last eight. However, they did not go past the group rounds in 2018. They have been assigned to Group A in this year’s edition, along with hosts Qatar, Ecuador, and the Netherlands.
