The 16th Ethio-Djibouti Joint Ministerial Meeting commenced Tuesday in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa.
The meeting is intended to enhance cooperation on regional, multilateral and economic integration between the two East African nations.
The Joint Ministerial Meeting is expected to discuss on the political, economic, infrastructure, and logistics cooperation between the two countries.
During its three-day deliberations, law and justice as well as immigration, border trade agreements, and port related issues, and agriculture are on the agenda.
At the opening of the meeting, the Director General of African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Fissaha Shawel said that the two countries have a strong long-standing bilateral relationship.
Head of the Djiboutian delegation, Mahdi Obsieh said Ethiopia and Djibouti have intertwined with culture, religion, language, tradition and history. He added that the two brotherly countries have enjoyed close and multifaceted cooperation.
