Ethiopia will to host the 46th Confederation of African Football (CAF) Ordinary General Assembly in Addis Ababa on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Delegates from across Africa and beyond will gather at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel, a modern venue known for hosting prestigious events. The assembly will commence at 10:00 local time (07:00 GMT).
This is the second time Ethiopia has been chosen to host the CAF Congress, the first being in 2017. The event will bring together officials from CAF Member Associations, zonal unions, and global football figures, showcasing Ethiopia’s commitment and readiness to facilitate key discussions about African football.
To support media coverage, the SkyTrain Hall within the hotel will serve as the Media Accreditation Centre, starting from 18 October. In the lead-up to the main event, zonal union meetings, including sessions for COSAFA, WAFU A and B, UNIFFAC, CECAFA, and UNAF, along with the CAF Executive Committee meeting, will take place from October 20-21.
The congress agenda will focus on crucial discussions about the future of African football, culminating in a press conference with CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe. Additionally, a friendly match between CAF and FIFA officials and legends is scheduled for October 21 at the Addis Ababa Stadium, adding a celebratory element to the proceedings.
