The federal government of Nigeria has announced Ethiopian Airlines as technical partner and core investor for the establishment of its planned national carrier, the Nigeria Air -following a successful bid.
Disclosing this in a press briefing in Abuja on Friday, the Minister of Aviation Senator Hadi Sirika said the airline won the bid with a consortium and they will have 95 controlling shares.

Ethiopian Airlines will have 49 percent equity while the other consortium will have 46 percent and the Federal Government will own 5 percent equity.
The Minister explained that Ethiopian Airline was the only airline that met the bidding close date and also met the evaluation criteria.
Last week, following a provisional approval by the National Universities Commission, (NUC), Sirika stated that was set for the take-off of the African Aviation and Aerospace University, AAAU, Abuja.
