The manager of Everton Football Club of the English Premier League, Frank Lampard, has confirmed that the club has started new contract negotiations with Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi.
Next summer, the 26-year-old will enter the final year of his contract at Goodison Park. There were some doubts about Iwobi’s performances since he joined the club, but the midfielder has flourished since the 2022/2023 season began. His performance under Lampard has been so impressive that he is expected to be offered a new contract.
The Nigeria international has played every minute of Everton’s 10 games across all competitions this season, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
