Former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has accused Benjamin Netanyahu of “outright treason” for opposing an investigation into claims that Qatari officials and operatives have infiltrated the Prime Minister’s Office.
Bennett’s allegations follow the indictment of Netanyahu’s former spokesman, Eli Feldstein, who is accused of leaking classified Israeli military documents while allegedly working for Qatar through an international company promoting pro-Qatar narratives in Israeli media.
“The Prime Minister’s Office is Israel’s most sensitive security hub,” said Bennett. “If these actions were done knowingly, it’s outright treason. If unknowingly, it means Qatar has infiltrated Israel’s leadership.”

Bennett further accused Netanyahu of undermining public trust and lacking the moral authority to lead the country. “They have no moral authority to send soldiers into battle,” he said, questioning how Israelis could trust a leader whose office is “filled with spies funded by Israel’s enemies.”
“I’ll say it again because it’s so hard to fathom: The terrorist [sic] government of Qatar financed the security spokesman of the Israeli prime minister, during wartime,” he added.
Netanyahu has not yet publicly responded to Bennett’s claims.
