Former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Maharazu Tsiga, regained his freedom on Friday after spending 22 days in captivity.
According to Channels Television, a source confirmed his release on Friday night.
Tsiga is currently receiving medical care at an undisclosed hospital, with security concerns cited as the reason for keeping the location confidential.
His abductors, led by the notorious bandit kingpin known as Babaro, had initially demanded a ransom of N250 million for his release. However, it remains unclear whether any payment was made.

As of now, government officials and security agencies, including the Katsina State Police Command, have yet to comment on the circumstances surrounding his release.
Tsiga was kidnapped on 6 February 2025 by an unspecified number of bandits at his residence in Tsiga village, Bakori Local Government Area of Katsina State.
During the attack, two individuals sustained injuries, while one of the gunmen was mistakenly shot dead by a fellow gang member.
