The Togolese Army on Sunday revealed that an explosion killed seven people in the country.
The explosion according to the statement happened on Saturday in Togo, where terrorism is being fought tooth and nail.
“An investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances of this explosion and identify the perpetrators,” the army statement said.
At least eight Togolese soldiers were killed in May in an attack in northern Togo near the border shared with Burkina Faso.
The troops are deployed in the north of the country where they’re pushing to prevent threats of an insurgency from Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger where terrorists are ravaging the Sahel.
Al-Qaeda and Islamic State terrorists have been ravaging the Sahel region with many countries also affected.
