The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has announced a suspension of access gate fees at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, effective from January 24, 2025, until February 7, 2025. The move is part of ongoing efforts to alleviate traffic congestion caused by the construction of a second runway at the airport.
The construction work has disrupted the flow of traffic, prompting FAAN to implement this temporary measure to ease the burden on travellers and airport staff.
The authority communicated this decision through a post on its official X account, assuring the public that the suspension is aimed at improving the travel experience during this period of construction.
FAAN emphasised its commitment to ensuring a smoother experience for all road users and thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation. The suspension of gate fees will help mitigate traffic disruptions caused by the ongoing construction activities.
