Family Seeks Justice Over Student Allegedly Killed by Peers

The families of Bliase Felix Aliyu, a 15-year-old kid who was allegedly murdered by his classmates at the Nigerian Air Force Secondary School in Kaduna State, are seeking justice for their son’s untimely death.

Until his death, the deceased served as the Assistant Head Boy of the school in Kaduna’s Mando area.

On June 19, 2024, two outgoing Senior Secondary Students (SS3) allegedly murdered him in the school dormitory.

The students were alleged to have completed their West African Examinations Council (WAEC) and were preparing to write their National Examination Council (NECO) exams when the incident occurred.

According to a member of the family, Paul Samson, the late Felix was his nephew and an orphan having lost his parents since 2013.

He said that the late Felix was in good health condition when he visited him during the recent Sallah break, and was therefore shocked to hear about the sudden death of his nephew whom he described as a brilliant and disciplined boy.

Samson, however, called on the management of the Nigerian Air Force Secondary School to intensify efforts and unravel the cause of Felix’s death and ensure that those behind it are brought to justice.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force has said that it is investigating the incident to unravel what led to the death of Felix.

NAF spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, in a statement, expressed sadness over the painful and unfortunate death of one of its students. He, however, said that investigation has commenced to unravel how the student died.

“The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar and indeed the entire NAF family are saddened by the painful and unfortunate incident of the untimely death of one of our students at Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna on June 19, 2024.

“To avoid all sorts of speculations, a thorough investigation is currently ongoing to unravel how, why and what actually led to the death of the victim.

“Rest assured that this matter is receiving the utmost urgency, and we won’t rest until it is unraveled,” the statement read.
