The Managing Director and CEO of NG Clearing Limited, Farooq Oreagba, says the Ojude Oba festival is yet to gain international attention due to poor infrastructure in Ogun State.

In an interview on News Central TV’s Jasiri: Hot Topics Special, Oreagba mentioned that the poor condition of roads makes it difficult for guests and tourists to get around.

He also noted that the lack of good hotels makes it difficult to find suitable accommodation for guests.

Oreagba pointed out that these infrastructure problems also pose a security risk for visitors.

Farooq Oreagba won hearts at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival.

“To attract people, you need good infrastructure. The Sagamu-Ijebu road is in terrible condition, full of potholes, and this is a security risk,” he said.

“If you’re attending a festival, you should travel comfortably, not dodging potholes. The roads need to be fixed to make the venue accessible. We also need a few decent hotels for good hospitality,” he added.

News Central reports that the Ojude Oba Festival, held annually in the town of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State, celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Yoruba, especially the Ijebu people.

The 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, held on June 18, was notable for its colourful cultural attire, glamour, and grandeur.

Oreagba made headlines with his horse-riding skills, composure, and charisma.
