Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, commended fathers for their crucial role in shaping society in his Father’s Day 2024 tribute on Sunday.
He described fathers as “uplifting ladders” guiding their children’s future, and commended their determination, responsibility, and role as moral compasses at home and in society.
Governor Fubara expressed deep gratitude for fathers’ diverse roles as providers, mentors, educators, leaders, and influencers.
He offered a heartfelt prayer for God to grant fathers strength in facing life’s challenges and wished them ongoing success and fulfillment in their efforts to improve society.
“Fathers are endowed with great capacity for exploits, determination and the shouldering of responsibilities as moral compasses at home and in the society at large. That is why they remain ladders for uplifting our children towards a greater future.
“In deep appreciation of the role of fathers as breadwinners, role models, teachers, leaders, disciplinarians, burden bearers and shapers of the society, it is my fervent prayer that God continues to give them the vigour to weather the storms and odds of life,” the message, shared on X, partly reads.
Father’s Day, celebrated annually on June 16, honours the incredible men who serve as the backbone of the family.
This special day recognises all fathers, grandfathers, and step-dads for their love, support, and guidance, appreciating every father who has been a mentor, protector, and role model.
