Female Suicide Bomber Kills Three in Nigeria’s Borno

A female suicide bomber, believed to be in her teens, blew herself up in a crowded area in northeast Nigeria’s Borno State.

The teenager set off the explosives among a group of men who were standing next to the local chief’s home.

The attack happened on Saturday in the town of Konduga, about 38 kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital.

Authorities and emergency responders say the remains of no fewer than three people have been evacuated while two other critically injured victims had been sent to the hospital.

“We evacuated three dead bodies and two people who were seriously injured from the scene,” said aid worker Abubakar Mohammed.

Bomb attacks in Konduga and surrounding villages are not new. In 2019, terrorist group, Boko Haram, killed no fewer than 30 people when three bombers detonated their explosives outside a hall where football fans were watching a match on TV.
