Fire Razes Popular Monday Market in Nigeria's Northeast (News Central TV)

A devastating morning fire gutted Monday Market, the largest market in Maiduguri, the capital city of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria. The fire started in the early hours of the day and quickly spread to other parts of the market, destroying properties worth hundreds of millions of Naira.

Eyewitnesses say that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but the blaze has caused significant damage to the market, which is a hub for traders in the region.

Several shops, stalls, and warehouses were affected, and traders and shop owners have been left counting their losses.

The state fire service and other emergency responders were quick to arrive at the scene and have been working tirelessly to put out the fire.

However, their efforts have been hindered by the large size of the market and the narrow streets leading to it.
