A road traffic accident near Nenhowe Business Centre on Monday Night has killed five people, leaving ten others severely wounded.
National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said a Nissan Caravan with 22 people on board veered off the road at the 97km-peg along the Mutare-Masvingo Road resulting in fatalities and injuries.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police expresses its deepest condolences to the bereaved families of five (5) people who died in a road traffic accident that occurred near Nenhowe Business Centre along Mutare-Masvingo Road on 23 August 2021 at 2030 hours.
On approaching the 97km peg, a Nissan Caravan with 22 people on board who were travelling towards Birchenough Bridge veered off the road, overturned and landed on its right side.
Five (5) people died on the spot, ten (10) were injured, while eight (08) others escaped unhurt.
The victims were taken to Birchenough Bridge Hospital mortuary for post mortem while the injured persons were admitted at Nyanyadzi Hospital.
The victims have been identified as Kudzai Sigauke (41), a female adult of Yemurai Village Chief Marange Mutare, Linda Mazemo (51) a female adult of 4595 Hobhouse, Mutare, Praises Mabayadzirere (31) a female adult of Gimboki Mutare, Alice Gadha (41) a female adult of 945 Destiny, Mutare, Simbarashe Mubare (13), a male juvenile of 502 Area 13 Dangamvura, Mutare.
Motorists are advised to observe the Government’s curfew regulations and the ban on intercity movements.
