Fleeing Car Thief Kills Pregnant Woman In Delta State, Nigeria

At least two people have been crushed to death in Nigeria’s Delta State by a fleeing car snatcher.

The yet-to-be-identified carjacker snatched a Peugeot car, and while attempting to make away with the vehicle rammed into a pregnant woman and a motorcycle rider, killing both instantly.

The incident occurred in Isselu-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State at about 6pm on Sunday.

The owner of the stolen car, simply identified as Martin, said he was travelling to Asaba, a suburb of the state, and he decided to give some passengers a paid ride.

According to him, he alighted from the car and left the key in the ignition and before he knew what was happening, somebody just jumped inside his car and sped off.

The carjacker ran into a motorcyclist who had a pregnant woman as a passenger. Both died on the spot. When we got to the scene, I found out that the man who tried to steal my car could be a Fulani man.

When residents arrived the scene and saw that the pregnant woman and the okada rider were dead, they pounced on him before the police got to the scene.
