Flight Diverted After Passenger Finds Live Mouse in Meal

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) reported that one of its flights had to perform an emergency landing because a mouse appeared in a passenger’s in-flight meal.

The plane was en route from Oslo, Norway, to Malaga, Spain, but had to land in Copenhagen, Denmark, as a precautionary measure in accordance with the airline’s protocols.

Passengers from the affected flight were transported to Malaga on a different aircraft.

Airlines typically enforce strict regulations to prevent rodents from being on board aeroplanes, as they risk damaging electrical wiring.

While occurrences of this nature are extremely rare, the airline has implemented procedures to prevent reoccurrence, including a review with their suppliers.

This incident was the second in a week involving rodents and transportation. A train service in southern England had to be halted during its journey after two squirrels entered a carriage, one of which refused to leave.
