Former Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed concern and sent condolences to the government and people of Borno State over the devastating floods currently affecting the region.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, Buhari lamented the widespread impact of the flooding, which has also affected other states across the country.
Describing the situation as a “national calamity,” the former President extended his sympathies to all those who have been affected. He conveyed his hope that relief efforts initiated by various governments would bring comfort to those who have lost loved ones and livelihoods, enabling them to resume their normal lives.
“My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by this natural disaster,” Buhari said in his message, showing solidarity with the flood-hit communities.
