CNBC, in partnership with market research firm Statista, has named Flutterwave among the top 250 fintech companies in the world.
CNBC‘s World’s Top Fintech Companies 2024 report includes companies from various market categories.
Seven African firms made the list: Flutterwave (Nigeria/US)—Payments; Kuda (Nigeria/UK)—Neobanking; MTN (South Africa)—Payments; PalmPay (Nigeria)—Payments; Piggyvest (Nigeria)—Financial planning; and Yoco (South Africa)—Payments.
The firms were selected based on their performances and newsworthiness. The news channel said that companies are shaping the future of financial services, fueled by technological advancements, expanding global markets, and collaborative leadership.
“This year’s report identified fintech companies spanning eight categories. The list is based on analysis and weighting of overarching general KPIs and segment specific KPIs focused on the individual categories,” CNBC noted.
Flutterwave has been instrumental in enabling global multinationals to expand easily into African markets. The technology firm eases remittances from the African diaspora worldwide, supporting family, business, and other needs.
The Milken Institute recently selected Flutterwave to join its Africa Leaders Business Council, which includes influential thinkers, business owners, investors, and specialists in business, technology, finance, and innovation.
