Several foreign embassies in Nairobi issued safety advisories to their nationals on Tuesday as protests erupted again across the country.

Ukraine, Russia and Poland advised their citizens to avoid crowded places while the United States closed its offices. It claimed it had received reports of criminals disguising as protesters who intend to assault and rob people.

Protesters have been gathering not just in Nairobi but in other cities, including Mombasa and Kisumu, as police were seen trying to disperse them with teargas.

Protests resume across Kenya on Tuesday

Many schools remained closed in Nairobi as parents kept their wards at home amid fears the protests may turn deadly. Some schools had sent messages ahead that they wouldn’t open on Tuesday.

With no resignations or sacking of government officials or the trigger-happy cops who fired live bullets at protesters last week, the youths had vowed to push on with their demonstrations until things change in the country.
