The former governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, has denied rumours that he left the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Social media was ablaze with speculation when it was reported that Fayemi was one of the APC stakeholders preparing to leave the party due to unresolved internal disputes.
The rumours intensified after Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna State, defected to the Social Democratic Party on Monday.
In a tweet made on his X Twitter account, Fayemi refuted the allegations, stating that he is still an ardent member of the APC.

“My defection from the All Progressives Congress has been the subject of a tale that has been making the rounds on several internet sites.
“I am a card-carrying foundation member of the APC, as I have had to state in the past, and this position has not changed,” he wrote.
Fayemi insisted that the APC still has time to settle its internal conflicts, even as he acknowledged his recent calls for increased internal democracy and inclusivity inside the ruling party.
“I think there is still time for our party to turn around and go in the direction of more internal democracy and inclusion,” he added.
