Ehud Barak, former Prime Minister of Israel, has reiterated his criticism of the current Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, branding him as “untrustworthy” and emphasising his alleged self-centred priorities.
Speaking in an interview with Hebrew Radio yesterday, Barak focused on Netanyahu’s critique of the Oslo Accords and his opposition to the establishment of a Palestinian state. Barak commented, “Netanyahu is trying to intimidate the Israelis with agreements that were signed 30 years ago, and he personally participated in implementing them, trying to convince them that he is the only hero capable of saving them from dangers.”
With a touch of sarcasm, Barak remarked, “Netanyahu led the Israeli Titanic and sank us while we were on board, and now he demands to put his hands on the steering wheel of its replacement ship.”
Expressing urgency, he asserted, “We must bring him down now, as he is a burden and a danger threatening Israel.”
Netanyahu’s popularity among Israeli Jews has reached an unprecedented low, with both his adversaries and traditional allies calling for his resignation once the ongoing conflict concludes.
