Nigeria’s former minister of sports and youth development, Bolaji Abdullahi, has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Abdullahi, a staunch supporter of former Senate President Bukola Saraki on Monday, revealed that he is still undecided on his next political move.
In a letter dated December 16, 2024, addressed to the Ubandawaki Ward chairman of the party in Ilorin, described the decision as a “difficult conclusion’ but the only ‘tenable option.”
“I write to formally resign my membership of the PDP. I have had ample time to reflect, and I have come to the difficult conclusion that this is the only tenable option for me at this time’, he said.
“The decision of what to do and where to go will be taken in the future, and that’s left to God,” he said.
He, however, did not state his next line of action despite insinuations that he may be joining the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
