Reports indicate that a Sudanese politician who had been a member of the dissolved joint civilian-military government has been arrested.
Mohamed al-Faki Suleiman was nabbed near his residence on Sunday in Khartoum, the Sudanese capital.
This development comes after the arrest of two politicians in the North African country last week.
The arrested politicians were part of a task force trying to dismantle the network established by former President Omar al-Bashir. They were also attempting to recover money and assets during the former President’s three-decade regime.
His arrest comes amid political instability in the North African country following a coup in October which hampered the forthcoming elections.
The military uprising has triggered violent protests in the country with security forces killing about 80 agitators.
