Formula One will introduce a second Spanish Grand Prix in 2026, as Madrid joins Barcelona on a revamped race calendar featuring major structural changes and fresh additions to the grid.
The newly unveiled 2026 calendar will kick off once again in Melbourne, Australia, from 6 to 8 March at the iconic Albert Park circuit. The season will end in Abu Dhabi on the weekend of 4 to 6 December.
Madrid’s debut Grand Prix is set for 11 to 13 September and will mark the end of the European leg of the season. The Spanish capital’s circuit will feature a combination of street and conventional track sections, promising a unique racing experience.
In a bid to streamline logistics, the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal will follow closely after Miami in May, reducing transatlantic travel for teams.

The 2026 season is also set to usher in significant shifts within the sport. Cadillac will enter as the 11th team on the grid, while sweeping new regulations on aerodynamics and power units will come into effect, setting the stage for a fresh era of competition.
FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem called the upcoming season “a significant new chapter” for the championship, noting the arrival of new races, teams, and manufacturers as catalysts for innovation and growth.
The 24-race calendar maintains a global footprint, spanning five continents and showcasing motorsport’s continued expansion, with 2026 shaping up to be one of the most transformative seasons in recent memory.
