The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has confirmed the death of four persons after a building caved in on Friday at Oye Sonuga Street, Palm Avenue in Mushin area of Lagos State.
The 3-storey building, reportedly over 40 years old, came crashing down on Friday, killing four persons. However, one person was rescued from the wreckage alive.
Reacting to the unfortunate incident, the Lagos State Government said the cause of the building collapse will be thoroughly investigated.
Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Omotayo Bamgbose-Martins revealed this while speaking to the press.
He called on the Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) and the Lagos State Materials Testing Laboratory, to find answers to the sudden collapse of the Lagos building.
Mr. Omotayo, who was paid a visit to the scene of the incident, gave instructions that the remaining parts of the building be demolished as soon as possible to avert further dangers.
