The hearth brigade announced the death of four people after a five-storey residence block collapsed in Ivory Coast’s industrial capital of Abidjan.
Thirty persons were rescued alive, 13 of them were rushed to the hospital. Firefighters in the neighbourhood of Cocody arrived at the scene of the incident shortly after midnight.
Footage from the scene confirmed emergency officials using torches to search through the pile of debris.
Prime Minister Patrick Achi visited the said and offered condolences to surviving family members of the victims. The cause of the accident is yet to be established.
A similar incident of collapsed building happened in Treichville last month.
