Four Israeli soldiers lost their lives, and 14 others were wounded in clashes with Hezbollah fighters in southern Lebanon, the Israeli military has announced.
According to the military statement, the incident occurred during ongoing confrontations with Hezbollah forces. Five of the injured soldiers are reported to be in serious condition.
Israel intensified its airstrikes in Lebanon last month, marking a significant escalation in a conflict that has involved cross-border exchanges between Israel and Hezbollah since Israel’s intensified offensive in Gaza.
Lebanese health authorities report that more than 2,650 people have been killed and over 12,300 injured in Israeli attacks since last year.
In early October, Israel extended the conflict further by initiating a ground assault into southern Lebanon.
