Eintracht Frankfurt have secured a replacement for forward Omar Marmoush, announcing on Friday the signing of Elye Wahi from Marseille.
The 22-year-old France U21 forward has agreed to terms with the Bundesliga club until 2030.
Marmoush, who netted 15 goals and provided 10 assists in 17 league appearances for Frankfurt, left the club for Premier League side Manchester City on Thursday for a reported €68 million (£59 million, $72.6 million).
While Frankfurt did not disclose the transfer fee for Wahi, German media reports suggest the deal is worth €20 million, potentially rising to €25 million with bonuses.
Wahi has scored three goals and provided one assist in 13 Ligue 1 appearances this season, having joined Marseille from Lens in August 2024.
He expressed his excitement about the move, saying, “I wanted to take the chance and come here. I want to repay the trust that has been placed in me with good performances and goals.”
Frankfurt, currently third in the Bundesliga, have a strong history of successfully replacing forward talent, with key departures like Randal Kolo Muani, Luka Jovic, Sebastien Haller, Jesper Lindstrom, and Andre Silva over the past five seasons.
Frankfurt’s next match is away at Hoffenheim on Sunday.
