A Ugandan and a Congolese were among the scorers for Free State Stars as they hammered AmaZulu 4-1 Saturday to ease their South African Premiership relegation fears.

Ugandan Martin Kizza was first to score, firing a close-range shot between the legs of goalkeeper Siyabonga Mbatha after only four minutes in central town Bethlehem.

Another three goals were scored within seven minutes midway through the second half, including one for AmaZulu by Zimbabwean Talent Chawapiwa.

Congo Brazzaville-born Harris Tchilimbou completed the biggest home win of the season by Free State Stars with a stoppage-time tap-in.

Victory lifted Free State one place to 13th, four points above the danger zone with six matches to play.

Relegation has dire financial consequences as Premiership clubs get a 1.5 million rand ($105,000/90,000 euros) monthly grant and second-tier clubs only 300,000 rand.
