Fans of disqualified Big Brother Naija – BBNaija – housemate, Erica Nlewedim, simply known as Erica, has started a fundraiser in her name.
The fundraiser has gathered N5,519,160.50 just 12 hours after it was created on GoFundMe.
The account was created by Ehizode Irefo on behalf of Erica after she got disqualified from the reality TV show.
The movement titled, ‘Fundraiser for Erica Nlewedim, ex BBN5 housemate’, was started by Ehizode Irefo.
“For Erica Nlewedim, BBNaija season 5 star, Lockdown edition whose journey on the show came to an emotional end – To realise some of her hopes and aspirations,” a summary on the platform read.
The fundraiser is aimed at reaching the goal of a N38,150,000.00 to assist the reality TV star who missed the chance to win the grand prize money of N85 million the show has to offer.
Erica was disqualified for breaching house rules. This was after she confessed that she poured water on the bed she was to share with her deputy Head of House, Prince, to prevent both of them from sleeping on the same bed.
She also had an outburst during which she bodyshamed Laycon and called him unprintable names.
A check on the website showed that 163 people had made donations to the cause.
Chief among the donors was an anonymous person who put down $2,000 (N762, 000) while Jade Mabee and Craig Turner donated $1,000 (N381,000) each.
